Baby Girl!!

So for some reason I have been in complete denial since my 19 - week ultrasound that I was really having a little girl. So in denial, that I had not bought one thing for her!! Can you believe that! I was just a little over 2 months away from having her and had not bought one thing or done anything to her room! So....last week I had a 3D/4D scheduled to see her beautiful face, but most importantly to make sure she was still a she!! :) And.....it's still a girl!!! I love doing the 3D pictures. We did it with the boys and we could really tell exactly what they looked like! It was a little more debatable with her pictures, but I think she is actually going to be a mix of Luke and Cade. It will be so fun to see who she really looks like when she is born! Here are some of the fun pictures we got.

The boys (along with all of the grandparents) went to the ultrasound with us and they were so funny. They would point out her mouth, nose and hands. But then Cade asked why she was broken? As you can see in the next picture, the 3D pictures look a little weird and distorted sometimes so she really did look broken! We had to explain to them that she wasn't broken and she would be perfect when she came out! :)

This is my favorite picture! She just looks so happy and I can't wait to see that sweet smile in person!!

BTW-I have now made some purchases and we are going to paint her room this weekend!! :)

First Day of School

Seriously....does it ever get any easier to send them off for their first day of school?!!! I know they are only going for 2 half days a week, but I still cried like a big ole' baby when I had to drop the boys off at school this morning!! They are going to the same school as last year, but because they are now in the 3 year old class, they do car pool and I don't take them in anymore. I think that is what made this morning even harder. I just had to pull up to school, push them out of the car and drive off before I even knew if they made it to their class! Carpool is what big boys do!!! I actually think the car pool was their favorite part of school today. They thought they were big time not having to have mommy walk them to their class. Before they got out of the car, I asked them to give me a kiss and a hug. Cade gave me a big kiss and a hug.....Luke with all the attitude of a 3 yr. old said "mom, I am not giving you a kiss before school." WHAT.....I didn't think that started until at least elementary school. Needless to say, I told him that was not going to work and he better get his booty over here and give me a kiss.....he at least leaned his cheek over for me to kiss!! I can tell I am going to be chasing them to their kindergarten class trying to get a hug and a kiss!! I guess I better just take them all in now, because there will be a day when that is embarrassing. :(

After all of the crying (me not them)....they seemed to have a great day at school. They were all smiles when I picked them up and they promptly asked "can we go back to school again??!!" Some of the things they told me about their day:
  • they had a fish in their room
  • they told me their teachers name
  • Ms. Edwards read a book about a mouse
  • they go to play on the playground TWICE!!
  • they played with friends, but couldn't really remember their names. Luke said there was another Luke in his class (which he thought was pretty cool) and that was the friend he played with
  • their class did not have a TV this year
  • they colored a picture of a lamb
  • they talked about rules in their class, but the boys could only remember one of them....keep your hands to yourself and they showed me how they do that :)
  • Luke informed me there was a "time out" chair and I thought "oh no, he already knows about the time out chair!!!"......thankfully the teacher just told them they would sit there if they didn't follow the rules! He didn't already have time out!
  • they got to play with bubbles outside
Basically, they were totally pumped about their day and told me all about it on the way home!! I just love hearing about their days! I love to hear what made an impact in their little brains! They are so excited about school and I hope it stays that way forever!! I can't wait to see and hear what all they are going to learn about this year!

Can you tell they were a little excited??!!!

Fun Days of Summer

Wow, I cannot believe we are already in August!! (that means I get another year older this month and I am less than 100 days away from having a sweet baby girl in my arms!!) ...I have a lot to do!!!

Anyway, we have been having lots of fun this summer so I thought I would share some of our favorite things to do! The boys love playing in the pool!! They would prefer a nice big pool, but you get what you get! When we get the pool out they could literally play for hours! We didn't get to play in it as much in July because it has been so hot, but hopefully when it cools down a little bit, we will get back at it. They ask everyone they talk to if they have a pool and if so can they come use it! A bit embarrassing, but it gets us a few pool invites from people! ;)

They love to play on their "skape boards." Doesn't matter what you tell them, that is what they are called!! :)

Spider-Man!! (You can't tell in the pic, but the lenses fall out of these googles all the time so we just left them out. He doesn't care...he just thinks he is spider man when he wears them!)

Luke is doing such a nice job of "washing" Cade's hair.

Our next favorite event of the summer was a family water balloon fight!! We were out walking one night, and saw another family in our neighborhood chasing each other around the yard having a water balloon fight. I thought it was such a great idea and I knew the boys would love it! They ask several times a week if we can have another water balloon fight. If it didn't take so darn long to fill all the balloons up with water, we would do it more often!

The boys couldn't believe they could actually throw the balloons at someone! It took them a minute to get the hang of it!

"Can I really throw this at daddy??"

BTW - I did get in on the action too!! I took a few minutes out to take some pics, but thats it. I wasn't missing out on all this fun!! :)

And our latest summer adventure was playing in the rain. I have been wanting to let the boys play in the rain all summer, but it is always thundering and lightening. We finally had just a rain storm so we let them loose. They thought it was the coolest thing to be able to play in the rain and they had so much fun!

We decided to get rid of the shirts!

Don't they look like they are having a blast...even the big boy?!!

I did not get in on this action, but I will next time. After they got done, they asked me if I would play in the rain with them the next time we did it and of course I said "yes!!" I just may look slightly like a beached whale running around in the rain....but oh well!! :) Hope you all are enjoying your summer as much as we are!!
