Mother's Day tea

So today we had our special Mother's Day tea at the boys school.  The boys gave me all their special gifts they had made me and then served us moms lunch.  I am really trying to soak up these fun little activities at their school because I know once they are in "real" school next year we won't have all of this!  It was a very special day and I am so thankful God let me be Luke and Cade's mom (and of course Allie too!!)

The boys each made me a special hat.... notice I have both of them on :)

Love these boys!

They made these special pictures with their handprints

They also answered some questions about me that were so cute I had to share!!

Here were Cade's answers:
  • What I like best about my mom is we go to Zaxby's
  • I think my mom looks pretty when she got married...awwwww!!
  • If I had $100 I'd buy my mom ice cream and a toy
  • My mom likes to take care of Allie
  • My mom's favorite food is Zaxby's spicy chicken like me
  • My mom is good at boxing...he thinks its cool that I occasionally go kickboxing :)
  • God gave us moms to take care of us
  • When I am at school my mom cleans up the playroom
  • I love my mom because she loves me

Here are Luke's answers:
  • What I like best about my mom is she plays baseball with me
  • I think my mom looks pretty when she's going on a date with me
  • If I had $100 I'd buy my mom a new tennis racquet...huh???  I haven't even picked up a tennis racquet since college...
  • My mom likes to go to bed....HAHAHA, very true!! :)
  • My moms favorite food is broccoli...boy do I have him fooled, at least he thinks I like it!
  • My mom is good at baseball...thats not what he says when I try and pitch to him or play catch in the back yard!!
  • God gave us moms to take care of us
  • when I am at school my mom works and cleans up the house
  • I love my mom because she's my mommy
Being a mother is the best job in the world and I wouldn't trade it for anything!!!  Thank you God for my 3 little blessings!

Spring Break Day 2

Unfortunately I am behind blogging about our wonderful spring break activities because we had to cancel most of them!! :(  I will explain more about that in a minute, but...... day 2 of spring break was wonderful!  We had a very busy day planned!  We spent the first half of the day at the beach!!  It wasn't exactly the wonderful beach we are use to next to the ocean, but it had sand, water, sun and friends so we still had a blast.  We went to a beach off of Allatoona lake with my mom and some friends from church.  The water was freezing and I didn't think for a million years that the kids would get in the water, but I was wrong! Purple lips and all they played in the freezing water for 2 hours!  Allie and I soaked up the rays on the sand most of the time, but once I took her down to the water that is where she wanted to stay too!!  The weather was beautiful and it was such a feel good day!! We will definitely be doing this again this summer!!

I think this was the only time he was still the whole 2 hours....

they had such a great time swimming and playing with their buddies!

The boys were so excited Allie got to wear a Captain America bathing suit!! :)

trying to get a pic of all 3...

already a beach bum...can't wait for vacation this year!!

Allie and her sweet friend Camille
So after we went home and got a good nap we had another fun activity planned!!  A dad of one of the boys teammates is the Athletic Director at Kennesaw State University.  He was so kind and invited their entire baseball team to a KSU vs. GT game to walk out on the field with the KSU players!!  The boys were so excited and it was such a cool opportunity!

Luke on the field

Cade on the field

high-fiving the KSU players

Each player was buddied up with a KSU player...this was Cade's buddy

and this is Luke meeting his buddy!  They were so nervous meeting these BIG ole' KSU players!

All of our players got to get in the middle of the team huddle before the game!

Cade on the field with his player during the National Anthem

Luke and CJ with their KSU player during the National Anthem

Right before game time our players got to yell in the microphone "PLAY BALL!!"

We are so proud of these boys!! :)
So this was the end of our fun spring break activities...Allie woke up the next morning with a crazy rash on her face...I just assumed it was a heat rash from all the outside time the day before.  I thought it would be gone the next day so we just took it easy at home that day.  Then Allie woke up with the rash even worse on Thursday.  Her face was even a little swollen and puffy so we cancelled our plans for the day and visited the doctor.  After some discussion and 2 different docs looking at her, they decided she was having some sort of allergic reaction to something that touched her face (we still don't know what)....she was also feeling pretty crummy with cold-like symptoms that they said was part of the allergic reaction....Here we are several days later, half a bottle of benadryl gone and 4 pills of steroids taken and she still isn't completely better!!  Her rash is much better but still there a little and she still isn't really feeling well....Sure hope she is over this soon!!

Spring Break Fun

So it is spring break and since we didn't get to go to the beach with the rest of the spring breakers...I'm not jealous at all.... we decided to plan some fun activities close to home!! Yesterday my mom and I took the kids to the Yellow River Game Ranch.  Allie LOVES animals right now and the boys always enjoy anything outdoors and involving animals so it was a win/win for everyone!!  You could buy all different kinds of foods to feed the animals so we feed them corn, peanuts, carrots and crackers.  The boys and Allie really enjoyed feeding the animals and getting to be up close and pet them! We had such a great time!

They were all pretty excited about their carrots....

Allie was a little irritated because this donkey took the entire carrot out of her hand and ate it! :)

One fat rabbit!!  I think they get feed a little to much food!!

On to the next fun spring break activity...

A New Season of Life - Baseball and Whistling

Three Days Ago...

Cade finally learned to whistle......

and I also had this conversation with Luke...

Luke: "Mom, is today Wednesday?"
Me: "No, it is Monday"
Luke: "What day comes after Monday?"  After thinking for a minute he says "Oh yea, Tuesday"
Me: "Yep thats right, why?"
Luke: "And then the next day will be Wednesday and I will have my scrimmage game!!" (in a high pitched voice)
Me: Now I see where this is going..."Yes, you are right 2 more days until your game."
Luke:  Yeah!!!!

Repeat conversation a few more times throughout the day.

Two Days Ago:

Cade can STILL whistle and does EVERY chance he gets...this can get old after a while. :)  He whistles while he is getting ready, he whistles while he is playing, he whistles during dinner, he whistles at bed time....he is whistling all the time!!! :)

Luke and Cade are telling EVERYONE they come in contact with "Guess what, only 1 more day until my scrimmage game!!!" once again in very high pitched voices.

Luke asks if he could go ahead and lay out his baseball socks and uniform.  I said "honey, I know you are excited but we still have another day.  I think it is a little early to be laying out your uniform...."

Wednesday morning I was awakened at 7:45 by singing and... whistling.
Cade was whistiling his heart out while Luke was singing at the top of his lungs "today I get to play my scrimmage gaaaaaame!!  We are playing the Yaaaaaankees!!!"  Repeat, Repeat

They both had their uniforms laid out before they left for school yesterday morning... They. Are. Ready!!!

So we finally made it to Wednesday!  Last night was the big night and as you can tell they were super excited about their baseball scrimmage game.   Joe had them chanting on the way to the ball park "What time is it?" ... "GAME TIME!!!"  He told me he was just trying to get them pumped up....I don't think they really needed any help in that area!!!  I have to admit though, I was just as excited as they were.  I really have been waiting for this for a long time! I love watching all 3 of my boys out there together doing something they love and me and Allie cheering them on!!!

Can you see the excitement?!!

His favorite baseball pose!

His favorite pose!

Playing ball with their best bud!

Cheerleader Allie! :)

Waiting patiently for their game to start

The wild and crazy bunch in the dugout!

Luke in action!

Cade ready to catch the ball!
They had a great night and played very well!!  The umpire said it was the best T-ball team he had seen this season at the park!!!  :)  We were very proud of them!! Go Cubs!!! :)

Opening day and their first real game is Saturday along with their 5th birthday!! They will have lots of family and friends cheering them on and celebrating their bday so I am praying for no rain (70% chance as of right now :( )!! I will of course post pics of all the fun we have coming up!!!

Zip Lining

So I have been asking Joe to go zip lining with me for almost a year now.  He is afraid of heights and really not much of an adventure seeker so he never really wanted to do it.  Just out of the blue a few weeks ago, he decided that he actually thought it would be good for us to do something new and different and break out of the ordinary a little bit even if it meant conquering something he was a little hesitant about.  So he told me he would actually go zip lining with me.....I'm sure he didn't think we could make it actually happen within the following couple of weeks....

So about a week ago our amazingly wonderful friends, Joi and Robbie, asked if they could watch the kids for us so Joe and I could go out on a date for valentine's day.  Of course we said yes because we would be crazy to say no and then started making our plans!!  Joi and Robbie didn't exactly sign up for an all day adventure with the kids, but when I called and told them what we wanted to do they wonderfully agreed to come spend their ENTIRE Saturday with 3 crazy kiddos so Joe and I could go zip lining!!!  YEAH!!!!  What would we do without Joi and Robbie!!!

So on the coldest, windiest day we have had all winter.....we went up to North Georgia and went zip lining!!  We had sooooo much fun and we were both so thankful that we did it!!  I am so glad Joe pushed his boundaries a little and tried this with me because it was such a cool experience.  Had it not been freezing cold, we would have gotten a lot more pictures, but it was just too cold to take our hands out of our gloves and take pictures!! Here are the few we did take!!

I absolutely want to do this again.....when it is warm!!  After we thawed out, we finished our date with a wonderful dinner and a chick flick!!  What an awesome date my husband took me on!!  I love him and I love when we can just get out and have some fun together!!  Hope you all had a wonderful Valentine's Day!!
